This is a direct replacement foam gasket that seals the gas cap to the filler pipe and keeps fumes from escaping. This is a recommended part to purchase when updating your fuel system because this gasket is much better quality than the original factory one. The standard cork fittings tend to dry-out and crack over time, but this gasket made of high-density foam will not dry or crack and will keep all gas fumes inside the tank.
